Preserving the Image means remembering it; crystallize it through the artistic process, preserve it in its sublimated, re-semanticized and expressive form. Collecting sign-elements, mnemonic imprints of a life already lived, is the fulcrum of the research of Marilina Marchica and Maurizio Pometti, whose commitment is aimed at freezing the moment of decay - guilty of the loss of detail - in the dilated and muffled dimension of obfuscation so as to give it testimony and status of memory. The exhibition itinerary unfolds like the pages of an old album of memories in which nostalgic and faded images follow one another and overlap, echoes of shared and collective visions, little-known faces and childhood tapestries. In this sense, reminiscence, in its connotation of fog, is the first salvific act: the resulting selection turns into liberation and preservation of the generating principle, placing before us suspended, timeless forms.
